LOWELL The state’s Emergency Housing Assistance Program biweekly report of Feb. 12 shows that of the 7,506 families in the shelter system, a little more than half are families with children who entered the country as migrant, refugees or asylum seekers. Homeless families with children from the commonwealth comprise the approximately 3,700 remaining families.
LOWELL Ineabelle Dominguez practically has DEI written right onto her name – if not her DNA. In July, the longtime public servant was selected to serve as the city’s next chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer, a position that had been vacant for more than year. She may be new to the official position, but Dominguez already knew her way around DEI issues.
LOWELL After nearly five hours of interviews with both internal and external candidates, the School Committee decided to stay in-house and selected Chief of Schools Liam Skinner as the interim superintendent of schools.
LOWELL The School Committee will interview interim candidates for the superintendent position on June 24 to replace Superintendent of Schools Joel Boyd, who has served the district since 2019.
