Gone in 30 seconds. That s about the time it took for the 260 appointments for COVID-19 vaccines offered Friday morning by the town of Palm Beach to be taken. Within 30 seconds of going live, we had more people in the appointment system actively filling out the registration form than there were appointments available. Unfortunately, it was a race to finish and click submit to secure an appointment, Deputy Town Manager Jay Boodheshwar told the Daily News.
He said the speed with the appointments were secured had led to concerns that the system crashed. It didn’t, he said, but many people were, unfortunately, unable to complete their registration in time to secure a spot before all slots were filled.
