LaTeisha Meekins, 36, was accused of stabbing of Catherine Patricia Heaston outside of a Walgreens. Earlier this year, she was found not guilty by reason of insanity.
LaTeisha Meekins, 35, is charged with second-degree murder in the November 2021 stabbing of Catherine Patricia Heaston. At the end of the hearing, Judge Joshua DeFord certified the case to a grand jury.
According to Commonwealth’s Attorney Nat Green, the court found that Meekins was not competent to stand trial and she has been ordered to receive inpatient treatment in order to restore her competency before preceding to trial.
