On Wednesday, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported 94,666 vaccinations had been administered in Madison County. The IDPH said 60,323 first vaccine doses or 24.45% of the population had been given and 34,343 residents, or 12.99% of the population, were fully vaccinated. The Madison County Health Department has said the actual numbers for both vaccination categories is higher than the IDPH figures. At 2 p.m. Wednesday the county health department was reporting all vaccine appointment times for Thursday, Friday and Sunday had been filled.

Late Tuesday the Madison County Health Department reported three deaths two men in their 70s and a woman in her 80s to bring the county’s death toll to 408.

The IDPH identified the eight Madison County deceased as a man in his 60s, a woman in her 70s, a man in his 70s, two women in their 80s, two men in their 80s and a man in his 90s. The IDPH also listed two Macoupin County, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 90s. The IDPH also reported 7,569 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases.
