Hakim Littleton s family, group demand credible probe of police shooting
The family of a man shot to death by Detroit Police is calling for a credible investigation into the incident ahead of Wednesday s announcement of a charging decision in the case.
Detroit Will Breathe and the family of Hakim Littleton issued the demand in a statement just hours before Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy is scheduled to release her decision on whether criminal charges will be handed down in the shooting of Littleton last July.
Shortly after the shooting, police released video footage showing Littleton, 20, pointing and firing a gun at officers, but the group disputes the department s account of the incident.

Coleman A. Young II Coleman A. Young II, who ran for mayor in 2017, leads in a poll of six potential candidates for Detroit City Council s two at-large seats. The poll, released Monday to Deadline Detroit, was conducted by Target-Insyght and comissioned by the Black Caucus of the Michigan Democratic Party. It shows 25 percent of voters favor Young, followed by Councilman André Spivey with 18 percent and Councilwoman Janeé Ayers with 13 percent. The poll assumes Council President Brenda Jones, who currently holds one of the at-large seats, will not run this year as she has indicated. Ayers holds the other at-large seat.
