primary like this. they said if bush 43 were facing trump and rubio and carson he would be mowing them down. i think trump s wild card still, i think he s doing a lot better than people expected and people at some point need to except he could be around but ben carson is making this look like the last go round where ultimately a more establishment and a more quiet frankly appropriate candidate will emerge in the long run that may not be emerging right now. i m sorry. i m getting tons of texts and now they re from republicans saying they don t get this thing and at some point people have to say it. so many expect this will probably come down to a
there you see a very warm embrace and clearly evidence of a strong friendship there between senator tom harkin of iowa who just retired after five terms in the senate and a popular figure throughout iowa and he is endorsing, as he did not do, in the last go round. he is endorsing senator hillary clinton as president of the united states and her candidacy. she did tick one question of note, very topical about e-mails. she was asked what we couldn t hear the question but she was asked why she used her private e-mail and he she said it was convenient and reiterated what she had said all along, that she did not send any e-mails with classified information. as congress gets ready to return from break, what s next with the iran deal? i m talking with democratic congressman jim hymes and a member of the intelligence committee next. when something works,
carly feeiorina was here with me and another contender possibly ohio republican john kasich in charleston today. last time newt gingrich won the primary. so how is this going to sort itself out? joining me is south carolina congressman mark sanford, also a former governor of the state. congressman, thank you very much for being with us. do you think that anyone has an advantage in this crowded republican field of circle south carolina republicans? no, it s wide open. as you may remember last go round, michellee bachmann had won in iowa and was out before rick perry even got in. i think these are very much wide open at the stage of the game. what about carly fiorina? she did really well in iowa last weekend, she s not pulling very high but as she puts it she expects by august to actually be in the debate. that she will have moved up in the polls. and she s one of the few
hispanic. he could draw support from that community. he did cause some frustration among that community last go around when he was running in a primary. he had tougher immigration views, embraced the arizona tough immigration law. that s a bit controversial. it s also interesting that the last go round for his race for governor he defeated harry reid s son rory in that race and he could go up against his father. what do you think, david. how likely is it that he would actually run? i think it s a very strong chance especially if republicans do well this fall whether they win and unseat democrat s control of the senate or not. i think if they do well, you know, this fall there s going to be a lot of pressure in 2016. democrats have other struggles going forward. obviously there will be a question of who s running from the top of the ticket but i think there will be f. governor sa sandoval runs well, he ll be in
chris christie. right. scott walker. right. that s how it s going to break down. yeah. it s just unclear to me. we will just have to see, you know, what happens. there will probably be a far right candidate and a sort of more moderate candidate duking it out in the end. we might have another of these prolive rags of republican candidates, right? like we had the last time. it s going to be wide open. 15 people lined up across the stage and it will be interesting. totally, totally wide open. this is as wide open as it s been in a long, long time. you have to say, joe, the tea party candidates who are out there, unlike the last cycle, they are stronger people. i mean, if it s ted cruz and it s rand paul who are filling those slots, they are not going to be the neophytes i think we saw last go round. no doubt about it. they have learned it s a funny thing about experience. you learn from experience.
