2 sentenced for 2018 fatal shooting in Jersey City

A pair of Jersey City men were sentenced to prison Thursday for their involvement in a 2018 shooting that claimed a teenager’s life and wounded another person, authorities said.
Omar Williams was sentenced to 10 years in state prison for first-degree manslaughter, while his co-defendant Kai Robinson received a five-year sentence, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.
Both men must serve 85% of their prison terms before becoming eligible for parole.

Yesterday, Hudson County Superior Court Patrick J. Arre sentenced Omar Williams,
23, of Jersey City, to 10 years in New Jersey state prison for his role in the death of Kamal
McCord, 19, of Jersey City – which occurred on May 2, 2018 in Jersey City, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.
Arre also sentenced one of Williams’ co-defendants, Kai Robinson, 23, of Jersey City, to a term of five years in New Jersey state prison.
Both men pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated manslaughter, with Robinson’s plea having the charge treated as second degree at sentencing.
