On March 4, 1977, The Fiji Times published a report on how the Housing Authority was developing affordable housing and the focus was on a project it undertook in Nadera, Nasinu.
One of the beneficiaries of the development, Surendra Lal and his wife Sushila Kumari, had moved into their home at Visako Circle, a little more than a shell with corrugated iron roof, floor, outer walls, bathroom, toilet and a kitchen sink.
The couple had their own design and handiwork with light blue patterned masonite inner walls dividing two bedrooms and a light blue tiled floor.
