Mireya Ramos - violinist and vocalist with the all female Mariacchi band La Flor de Toloache - is bringing a latin lineup to Frieda s for an evening of latin-mariachi-soul.
Mireya has been in New Zealand since Womad 2020 - along with her partner Andy Auverbuch, sometime boogaloo guitarist with the latin soul great Jo Bataan. The pair decided to wait the Covid19 out Downunder.
The evening will feature Mireya on vocals and violin backed up by four piece band - featuring percussionist Miguel Fuentes (George Benson, Grover Washington, Patti LaBelle)
Mireya, founder of the all-female Mariacchi group La Flor de Toloache won a Latin Grammy in 2017 and in 2019 recorded a single with John Legend - as well as recently working with Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys.and performing at the Kennedy Center Honors for Linda Ronstadt.phew.
