LA Junta Tribune Scott Peterson, a longtime Coloradan with over 40 years of experience in community development, is the new mayor of the city of Las Animas. At the Las Animas City Council meeting June 29, Peterson was appointed mayor following a motion and a 3-2 vote. Councilman Dave Armstrong was the tie-breaking vote.
