Robert Zavala’s love for Michigan and his friendliness were sometimes too much for his own good.
Working the Crisler Center tunnel as part of the event team, Zavala was one of the first faces non-paying visitors would see. And if the guest had any connection to the Wolverines if he were, say, a former Michigan basketball player it was time for a quick selfie.
The thing is, such photos are not allowed by event team staff.
“Robert, man, you’re going to get us all burned,” a fellow employee would say.
