The NBL will host a hub in Melbourne from February 20 in which all nine teams will play a combined 36 games in just over a month.
The NBL and Victorian government s Melbourne hub will also result in the league debut its NBL Cup competition, in which results from each quarter of the 36 regular season games will contribute points towards the trophy and $300,000 in prizemoney.

The NBL has announced a 36-game extravaganza to take place starting in February.
Melbourne will host all nine clubs as the competition debuts its NBL Cup competition to run alongside the regular season.
The 36 matches, which kick off on February 20, will count towards the season proper while also determining the NBL Cup winner with $300,000 prize money up for grabs.
NBL owner and executive director Larry Kestelman outlined the plans on
SEN Breakfast.
âWeâve created a new product thatâs going to run side by side with the ladder,â he said.
âAll games within the hub are going to count towards the regular season so it will be an expanded regular season.
