Josef Newgarden, driver of the No. 2 PPG Team Penske Chevrolet, captured the season-opening NTT P1 Pole Award, the 17th of his NTT INDYCAR SERIES career, with his fastest lap of 59.5714 seconds on the Streets of St. Petersburg.
Chevrolet enters the 2024 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season defending their eighth Manufacturers Cup of the 2.2-liter twin turbo direct injected era, amassing 111 total wins, seven driver championships, five Indianapolis 500 victories, 127 earned NTT P1 Pole Awards and 308 podium finishes since 2012.
The 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 is close to having its entry list completed. In assembling all of the season-long entries that will be on the Indy 500 entry list, 27 spots are already accounted for across IndyCar’s 10 full-time teams.
