Trains are running again. Metro crews are working after this smoking incident. You see them down here and up on the tracks. Metro as it was a smoking boot that caused the smoke this afternoon. The boot is the portion of the track that is supposed to contain, and protect the power cables. This stretch of track happens to be one of three sets of track identified by the fta that metro needs to address immediately. In a letter to metro gm, paul whitfield, fta says the three areas that need urgent attention. You might say, isnt that the point of metros safe track plan, that systemwide maintenance effort that metro recently announced, and is about to undertake. The fta says these three segments of track must be a priority before metro begins that safe track plan. Those areas include the red line for Medical Center to van ness station. Kevin muse and a companion driving this car murdered within a few steps of muses home on gateway boulevard after 4 00 in the morning. We believe at this time robbery was the motive. The car, key evidence in the case towed away with the rear window shattered by gunfire. The cars driver, samuel page was found dead behind the wheel. Killing his daughter last year. His daughter was 27 years old and had autism. Prosecutors say he shot her more than a dozen times because she was a burden on him. During opening statements, prosecutors suggested that stern wanted his daughter out of his life so he could have more time for white. Yesterdays testimony surrounded sterns mental and physical health when officers arrested him. Several officers testified he seemed tired, know his name. Inside his home, they found bottles of prescription medication. Including narcotic pain killers. Perhaps he took an overdose of his medication and this was an attempt to take his own life, but out of concern for him, we thought we would got to the hospital and have him checked out.
