Larimer County leads Colorado in cases of COVID-19 variant found in UK

Larimer County leads Colorado in variant strains of COVID-19. Vaccines are still the county s best tool at stopping the spread, health officials say. Larimer County has 488 reported cases of the B.1.1.7. variant first detected in Britain  the most of any other county in Colorado, according to the state COVID-19 data dashboard. El Paso County has the second highest number, at 289.  Larimer County also has 35 cases of the variant first detected in California,B1427/429, and one case of the P1 variant first detected in Brazil, according to the state. The P1 variant case is associated with travel, so county epidemiologist Jared Olson said it isn t as concerning.
