When you lump together all these proposals, he said, that blurs this notion of political accountability, because voters are not able to vote for each individual proposal.   Faced with the legal battle, however, Republican commissioners appear unflinching.  Commission Chairman Jim DeLanis, a Republican recently reappointed to his seat, voted with the Republican majority against the proposal. Arguing the language is confusing, he suggested pushing the issue to court.

Nashville will spend its remaining $30 million in federal CARES Act relief to reimburse public health and safety salaries a move that will free up money in the city s regular budget for future COVID-related spending.  The Metro Council voted 35-4 in favor of the accounting strategy during Tuesday s meeting. Voting against the measure were council members Steve Glover, Robert Swope, Jonathan Hall and Freddie O Connell.
