A STUDENT team from Ferndown Upper School have been shortlisted for an international design competition. The Design Ventura competition - the Design Museum and Deutsche Bank’s free design and enterprise competition - invited teams of students aged 13 to 16 to design a new product to improve everyday life which would retail for under £10, following a brief set by award-winning designer Yinka Ilori. From over 290 secondary schools who entered, across the UK and internationally, the team from Ferndown Upper School have been shortlisted for their entry Build & Play (Modernist House of Cards) . Their entry is a pack of cards with iconic architectural designs which slot together to create new design structures.

In July 2020, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Bank Stiftung and Deutsche Bank Afrika Stiftung joined forces to mount a fundraising campaign to support the German Red Cross (DRK) with relief initiatives in Somalia. Around 65,000 euros have been raised thanks to donations from Deutsche Bank Stiftung, Deutsche Bank Afrika Stiftung, Deutsche Bank, its employees and a number of other donors. The German Red Cross is using the donations for cash aid, which will enable people in the affected region to meet their basic food needs with dignity and self-reliance, above all.
