THE APPRENTICE: The title almost sounds like an old Jason Statham or probably The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) movie, one that’s filled with hard action and death-defying stunts.
Any which way, surviving both requires quick reflexes, physical stamina, and presence of mind.
Precisely what two Filipinos, ex-Team Lakay athlete and single-mother Lara Pearl Alvarez and former MMA champion and cancer survivor Louie Sangalang need as they slug it out with 14 other contestants in “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition,” the largest global sports media property in Asian history.
The 13-part series is set to premiere across Asia on Thursday, March 18, on AXN, the show’s official Asian broadcast partner, with markets to include Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam.

Filipino-American fighter Brandon Vera felt honored to appear as a guest athlete in ONE Championship’s edition of “The Apprentice.”
Vera joined a long list of legendary mixed martial artists who showed up as guest athletes in the hit reality television series, namely two-division UFC champion Georges St-Pierre, former ONE and Bellator welterweight titleholder Ben Askren, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu icon Renzo Gracie among others.
“It was very educational and refreshing not to have any pressure on me in front of the camera. I got to learn a lot from the candidates. I look forward to seeing ‘The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition, ” said Vera. “It was an honor, an absolute privilege to be standing next to greatness both in the martial arts and business worlds.”
