Two arrested following €2 5m drug seizure in Dublin

Two men have been arrested following a €2.5 million drug seizure in north Co Dublin. The 129kg of suspected cannabis herb, with an estimated street value of €2.58 million, was seized yesterday during an operation by the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Customs in the Lusk area. The drugs were smuggled in through Dublin port and kept under surveillance. Armed officers stopped a van in Lusk and seized the drugs. One man was arrested at the scene, a second man a short time later. Officers from the Bureau also searched several homes and industrial units. The two men, aged 45 and 52, are being detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act in Balbriggan and Dún Laoghaire garda stations.

Share this article Nine adult dogs have been seized by gardai and the DSPCA at a suspected breeding operation in South Dublin. It was after a joint search operation at a house in Ballybrack yesterday morning, where officials found eight bulldogs and a Doberman. All but one of them had their ears cropped, which is an illegal procedure, and two of them are pregnant. Similar dogs have been advertised online for prices in excess of 3-thousand euro according to the DSPCA. Gardaí and members of the @DublinSPCA have seized 9 dogs in Ballybrack. It s after a joint search operation yesterday morning at a suspected puppy farm.
