The Governors of Battambang and Pailin provinces of Cambodia have met their counterpart in Thailand’s Chanthaburi province to discuss the re-opening of border gates to allow legally permitted Cambodian workers to return to work in Thailand.
Brunei Darussalam ratified the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement on October 12, becoming the sixth member country to ratify the deal, after Thailand, Singapore, China, Japan and Cambodia.
Countries need to settle root causes of conflicts, including poverty, inequality and injustice, intolerance, discrimination, and incitement to violence, in order to build sustainable peace, said Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN).
