Le Hoai Trung, Chairman of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, paid a courtesy call on Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairwoman of the CPP Central Committee's Mass Mobilisation Commission Men Sam An on August 23 as part of his ongoing official visit to Cambodia.
Scientists from Wonders of the Mekong and the Fisheries Administration (FiA) have set up 36 underwater acoustic receivers along the upper reaches of the Mekong River in Cambodia to better track the movements of a stingray believed to be the largest freshwater fish ever caught, excluding beluga sturgeons, which also occupy saltwater environments.
PHNOM PENH (Phnom Penh Post/Asia News Network): Lao Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh has urged the Laotian provinces of Champasak and Attapeu to cooperate with Cambodia’s Stung Treng, Ratanakkiri and Preah Vihear provinces to expand ties between the two countries. Laos also agreed to hold regular meetings with border officials to enhance cooperation.
