Alliant announces jump in renewable energy generation Thursday, December 3, 2020 11:28 AM More than 26.5% of electricity used by Alliant Energy’s Iowa customers in 2019 was generated by renewable resources, the company announced today. That is up from 9.9% in 2018, according to a news release. Company officials said that percentage is expected to continue growing with wind farms that came online this year and the addition of new solar farms that will generate up to 400 megawatts of clean energy by the end of 2023.
