LANSING, MI – A 113-year-old former train station in Michigan’s capital city is on deck to become a mixed-use community space if a brownfield redevelopment plan is approved, according to a news release from the city mayor’s office.
Most recently occupied by Clara’s Restaurant, the historic train station, 637 E. Michigan Ave., sits vacant in downtown Lansing’s Michigan Avenue Corridor just a few blocks from the Capitol building. The Gillespie Group has plans to develop it.
“The redevelopment of the train station on the Michigan Avenue Corridor will be the latest project to further revitalize the Stadium District in downtown Lansing,” Mayor Andy Schor said in a statement.
