Over 1,000 people attended the second Windermere Science Festival last weekend, and 1,000 children engaged with science outreach activities in local schools in the run up to the event.

Children at a Cumbrian primary school have created an adorable news report covering the Great Fire of London of 1666.
The video, lasting more than three minutes, covers everything from weather reports to interviews with affected residents.
The material was created by Beech class at Langdale Primary School in Ambleside.

Parents in Stoke-on-Trent say teachers have done an amazing job in welcoming children back to school.
Some welcomed the children back with banners while others put up balloons - and there was even a dancing bear at one school!
