We have a double dose of storms with hurricane jose moving closer to us here at home. Good evening, im jim rosenfield. Were tracking the tropics tonight and how the storms could have an impact from the jersey shore to the island of the caribbean. Brandon hudson kp keith jones showing us how folks are getting ready tonight. We begin with Glenn Schwartz. The jersey shore could see the impact tomorrow morning. There could be showers and winds picking up. Were seeing the high clouds across the shore right now. The center of jose is well offshore. Its tracking to the north. Its not going to make a direct hit. The outer bands do start moving back our way. The center of the storm about 350 miles off the atlantic city. The first outer band about 100 miles offshore. You see the clouds moving in. Some showers, too. Were not going to see a lot of rain from this. The main impact will be from the winds which will be picking up. There will be showers moving toward the jersey shore. Some of those will be reaching inland. Most of that activity stays off shore. Its a weakening storm. Still a hurricane with 75mileanhour winds. These bands of showers will be making their way toward the coastline and inland. The winds, thats the biggest problem with this storm system. The wind has started to pick up. Its a 14mileanhour wind, not going to cause too many problems at the shore. The rip current risk is high. The tropical impacts will be felt especially later today and into this evening. At the jersey shore and delaware beaches. The first alert goes through thursday morning. The worst of it, though, will be during the day today and tonight. Two hurricanes are the big stories this morning. One hitting the caribbean. The other impacting our coastline. Meteorologist bill henley is tracking them both along with what to expect today in your neighborhood. Good mornin good morning. Maria is a monster in the caribbean. Were dealing with a weakening storm at the jersey shore and delaware beaches. Were seeing rainfall. There is not heavy. Well see scattered showers this morning and on and off rainfall this afternoon. Its going to feel like its coming down a lot heavier because the wind is still wrapping around the storm. Thats a 75mileanhour wind blowing in the storm. The winds, hurricaneforce winds, stay offshore. We could see gusts top think 40 Miles Per Hour along the coast topping 40 Miles Per Hour along the coastline.
