A robber made off with $230 from the Dollar General store in Tyrone Township last week.
State police at Newport said a heavy-set person entered the store on Landisburg Road about 9:40 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 14), threatened the clerk and demanded money. The cashier complied, and the robber then left the store and fled the scene in a white- or silver-colored SUV.
The clerk was not able to clearly identify the robber’s gender, but he or she is described as white, heavy-set and wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie, a black ski mask and black gloves at the time of the heist.
