Memphis development: Hotel proposed near Cordova strip mall

A North Carolina developer is looking to build a 76-room hotel behind a strip mall in Cordova, according to documents submitted to the Memphis and Shelby County Land Use Control Board. Developer Henry Warner submitted the application for the hotel on a currently vacant 2-acre lot adjacent to the Commons at Dexter Lake shopping center.  The hotel would front Chickering Lane west of the strip mall and south of Dexter Road. Plans also call for 81 parking spaces, but give no other details about the project. The Commons at Dexter Lake sits at the southwest corner of the intersection of Dexter and Germantown Parkway and includes a HomeGoods, a Tuesday Morning and a framing shop.
