as we ve heard in recent days it is. jenna: when we talk about these drills, these drills that the south koreans are doing, what exactly rah they are they practicing with? reporter: well, they re practicing with f-15 fighter jets, with artillery. these are live-fire exercises, land drills as well as navy sea exercises. the naval sea exercises are taking place off the coast, the eastern coast, so they are well within south korean territorial waters. they are not taking place on that small island that s just 9 miles from north korea, the island that was shelled on november 23rd by the north koreans. that exercise took place over the weekend. this is the 48th military exercise that south korea s carried out this year. so, again, the pentagon is down playing the significance of this, saying it was preplanned, but certainly tensions are rising. and with north koreans celebrating the 19th year that kim jung-il has been in power today, it was at that parade where the military officials
