A new garrison commander will be welcomed today during a change of command ceremony which begins at 10 a.m. at Waybur Theater.
Col. Lance OâBryan, who most recently served as chief of operations for U.S. Africa Command at Stuttgart, Germany, will replace Col. C.J. King as the Fort Knox garrison commander â a role similar to a mayor and city manager.
OâBryan will be charged with providing quality on-post services for soldiers and their families, as well as overseeing infrastructure projects, maintaining environmental stewardship and ensuring the safety and security of those who live and work on Fort Knox, according to a news release.
