A prototype app using artificial intelligence to diagnose
pneumonia has won the developer an international
award.
Company-X senior software developer Jiadong
Chen built the prototype for an international competition
run by Microsoft.
Chen built an image classifier for
detecting bacterial and viral pneumonia using Microsoft
Azure Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Unity, winning the
Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professional Global Cloud Skills
Challenge.
Microsoft Azure AI is a portfolio of AI
services designed for software developers and data
scientists. Unity is the leading platform for creating
interactive, real-time content in 2D, 3D and virtual
reality.

Hamilton-based agile development specialist Company-X has scored the services of a prominent multiple winner of the coveted global Microsoft MVP award.
Jiadong Chen, a five-time winner of the Microsoft most valuable professional (MVP), developer technologies award, recently joined Company-X.
Chen is an expert in Microsoft cloud and Unity 3D, 2D, augmented and virtual reality technologies, an area Company-X is also focusing on.
There are around 3000 Microsoft MVP award winners internationally, people recognised as some of the industry’s best and brightest.

expert in Microsoft and Unity 3D, 2D, augmented and virtual
reality technologies has joined New Zealand Agile software
specialist Company-X.
Five-time winner of the
Microsoft Most Valuable Professional, Developer Technologies
award, Jiadong Chen, recently joined Company-X.
Chen
is one of 3,000 Microsoft Most Valuable Professional award
winners internationally, recognised by Microsoft as one of
the technology industry’s best and brightest five years in
a row.
Nominations for the award are made by Microsoft
executives and existing winners.
