Learn how housing rights are just as important today as in 1968

Kathlene Sullivan Stable housing is more than simply four walls and a roof over your head. It’s the foundation for a better life – and a better community. “It’s just so key to having a stable life, to obtaining employment, to gaining an education,” says Brittany Mellinger, director of the Housing Equality and Equity Institute at Tenfold. “Having that fair housing choice is really crucial.” April is Fair Housing Month, a time to put the spotlight on that crucial need. While many take their homes for granted, there are many more for whom safe, stable housing is a struggle. The Tenfold team is there to help.   Tabor and LHOP have recently joined forces and are now known as Tenfold. Together, they are focused on sparking the power in all people to achieve equitable housing and financial security.

6 Democrats vie for party's backing for Lancaster City Council; here are their platforms | PA Power and Policy: Pennsylvania State News

Six Democrats are seeking their party’s backing for four City Council seats up for election this year in Lancaster. The group includes three incumbents and three newcomers who are vying for the city Democratic committee’s support in the May 18 primary. Endorsements are scheduled for Feb. 9, and the party’s nominating committee is preparing recommendations. So far, no Republicans have publicly announced plans to run for council, and party leaders did not respond to requests for comment on whether any candidates plan to enter the race. All seven current council members are Democrats, and the party dominates city politics.
