COLUMBUS, Ohio – Six Ohio State University divers have qualified for the NCAA swimming and diving championships out of Zone C qualifying, which took place over the last three days at the Lancaster Aquatic Center in Lexington, Ky., and on the campus of the University of Kentucky.
This morning and afternoon the competition included the women’s platform and the men’s 1-meter springboard. Ciara McGing, a freshman, qualified for her first NCAA championships by placing fourth on the platform event with a five-dive score of 520.55. Lexie Barker was 15th with 444.80 points.
Senior Joey Canova punched his ticket to NCAAs by placing third on the 1-meter today with a score of 703.05. Jacob Fielding (fourth with 674.10 points), Jacob Siler (fifth with 669.40 points) and Lyle Yost (eighth with 628.35 points) also competed today.
