Assault in Lanark
Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police officers charged a 75-year-old Drummond-North Elmsley Township resident with multiple offences last week.
On Wednesday, Feb. 17, the man was charged with assault, mischief under $5,000 and forcible confinement. These charges are the result of a domestic investigation.

Provincial police are reminding people to play it safe on the ice after a close call in Lanark County on New Year’s Day.
Shortly before 8 p.m., the Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police, the OPP’s Emergency Response Team, the Beckwith Fire Department, Drummond/North Elmsley Tay Valley Fire Rescue and Lanark County Paramedics responded to a report that two people had fallen through the ice on Mississippi Lake, near Carleton Place, near the ninth Line of Beckwith Township.
