Picking up a bag of chips off the side of a road in Port St. Lucie resulted in a prison guard’s arrest when corrections staff found her “Zapp’s New Orleans Kettle Style Voodoo” potato chips contained methamphetamine, according to arrest reports and a state prosecutor.
Margaret Hammond, 25, a guard at Okeechobee Correctional Institution, in Okeechobee, is accused of attempting to smuggle in the drug-filled chip bag as she entered the prison facility April 3, records show.
She’s charged with trafficking in more than 200 grams of methamphetamine and introducing contraband into a correction facility, according to an Okeechobee sheriff’s report.
