A lawsuit filed last August alleging Topeka police misconduct was dismissed last month at the request of the man who filed it.
Lamar Ray Steele Jr. plans to refile the suit later, he said in a motion to withdraw that he filed April 26. U.S. Senior District Judge Sam Crow dismissed the suit that day without prejudice, meaning it could be refiled later.
Topeka s city government doesn t have a comment regarding the lawsuit, said Molly Hadfield, the city s media relations coordinator, on Tuesday.
The suit sought damages in excess of $75,000 on each of two counts from Topeka’s city government and Topeka police officers Cody Burger, Devin Viergever, Jared Strathman and Ryan Tolbert.
