JACKSON, Miss. (AP) A former chief of staff for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency won't appear on the ballot for a Mississippi Public Service Commission post because she failed to meet an in-state residency requirement, the state Supreme Court ruled Thursday.
JACKSON – Mandy Gunasekara, a Republican hoping to become the next Northern District Public Service Commissioner, is fighting to stay on the August primary ballot.
A Northern District Public Service Commissioner candidate disqualified from the ballot is appealing the ruling. Amanda Gunasekara filed the appeal in Hinds County Thursday.
