A farmer today rescued a nearly six feet long python trapped in his maize field at the Burirbari village of Patgram upazila in Lalmonirhat.
Eyewitness Nabiul Islam said the python was trapped in a net in the maize field. Owner of the field, farmer Lutu Miah, rescued it and brought it back to his home and kept it in an iron cage, reports our Lalmonithat correspondent. Hundreds of people gathered at Lutu Miah s house after the news of the python rescue spread. Police later took the python from Lutu Miah and handed it over to the forest department, said Nabiul.
