Lalji Pada in Kandivali, entered a small dairy farm while chasing a kite and fell into a dung pit on Thursday afternoon, according to a police official. As soon as he got trapped, some workers in the area noticed him and alerted others, he said. A team from the fire brigade and police subsequently rushed to the spot and the boy was finally pulled out and taken to a hospital.

Local residents had caught the two men accused of stealing cellphones on Wednesday, the police said in a statement. Later, the locals tonsured them and carried out a procession of them naked. They also recorded the whole incident and uploaded the video on social media.
