The NCP member of Lok Sabha from the Lakshadweep group of islands, said that the administrator was acting in a way that disturbed the people Lakshadweep administrator Praful K. Patel is pursuing an imperialist-corporate agenda and is behaving like a dictator, cutting down the powers vested with democratic institutions and offices, said P. P. Mohammed Faizal, MP, on Tuesday.
Speaking to the press through a voice message, the NCP member of Lok Sabha from the Lakshadweep group of islands, said that the administrator was acting in a way that disturbed the people. He said that Lakshadweep islands have been free of serious crime as vouched by the National Crime Records Bureau. However, the administrator had brought into force the Goonda Act as if to contain crimes. His action require an explanation, the MP said.

Kochi (Kerala) [India], May 25 (ANI): Kerala High Court on Tuesday stayed the order of the Additional District Magistrate that directed the Assistant Public Prosecutor to attend the legal cell, secretariat at Lakshwadeep for completing urgent pending works until further orders.
The Court directed the Administrator of Lakshadweep Praful Khoda Patel to ensure that the prosecutor should be posted on the island, where the courts are functioning.
A Division Bench of Justices K Vinod Chandran and MR Anitha stayed the order while considering a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against the order.

Lakshadweep administrator Praful Patel’s orders banning slaughter, transportation, selling or buying beef products is a blatant onslaught on the people, CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP Elamaram Kareem wrote in a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind.
Mr. Kareem has demanded that Mr. Patel be immediately recalled and all the orders be rescinded.
He said Mr. Patel had passed the order without consulting the island community.
