Firefighters in Lakeville are warning community members of dangerous ice conditions after they rescued a man from icy water on Saturday. Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department said in a post to its Facebook page that on December 26 around 3:30 p.m., the department was called to the 23000 block of Osborne Road for an ice rescue. At the scene, firefighters found a man in the water who was trying to rescue his dog and ended up facing a life-threatening situation, the post said. Rescuers were able to save the man but the dog died, officials said in the post.
