John and Ann are first to receive Covid vaccine in St Neots

John Shufflebotham, 81, and Ann Field, 82, both from Eaton Ford, had the jab in a centre run in collaboration by local healthcare providers Lakeside Healthcare and St Neots Health Care.  Sarah Parren, hub manager at Lakeside Healthcare, said: “Our first week of vaccinations has gone well with lots of our most vulnerable patients getting vaccinated.  Our staff and volunteers have done an amazing job in both booking patients in, supporting patients, as well as giving the vaccines too.”

Published: 5:05 PM January 7, 2021    A Marquee has been erected outside Dumbelton Medical Centre in Eynesbury St Neots as part of a vaccination hub. - Credit: John Comfort A temporary marquee has been set up in the car park outside a medical centre in St Neots to help deliver the Covid-19 vaccine. Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) have confirmed that Dumbleton Medical Centre, in Eynesbury St Neots is one of the GP surgeries distributing the Covid-19 vaccine.  The marquee is used to welcome patients and take their details , but the vaccines will be given in the GP surgery itself. A spokesman for CCG said: Dumbleton Medical Centre is delivering the Covid-19 vaccination at the moment and the marquee is used to welcome patients and take their details, but not for actually vaccinating patients. It is heated and used to provide shelter just in case of bad weather.

Pfizer vaccines begin at St Mary s Medical Centre, Stamford to protect against Covid-19 A Covid-19 vaccination centre has opened in Stamford this morning (Tuesday, December 29). From today until Thursday (December 31), nearly 1,000 people will be passing through the doors of St Mary s Medical Centre in Stamford to get their first dose of the vaccine. The surgery, which is run by Lakeside Healthcare, has been provided with 975 Pfizer vaccines and has a three-and-a-half day window in which to use them. Vaccines begin at St Mary s Medical Centre in Stamford First on the list to be vaccinated are those aged 80 and over, as well as care home workers and residents.

In a survey sent out today (Monday, December 20) Lakeside Healthcare asks potential volunteers if they would like to work at Corby, St Neots, Stamford s St Mary s Medical Centre, or Stanground. Volunteers are asked about payment The survey was emailed to people who had already expressed an interest in volunteering to help Lakeside with Covid-19 jabs. Those responding to the survey are also asked if they are expecting to be paid for volunteering and are given the choices No , Yes - reasonable out of pocket expenses and Yes - an hourly rate .
