Barricades have now been installed across prime beachside parking spots on Lakeshore Boulevard North in Sauble Beach.
A plan to cut back encroaching sand dunes and install a retaining wall along Lakeshore Boulevard North between the Crowd Inn and Kinloss Lane, to increase space for vehicles, was protested by the neighbouring Saugeen Ojibway Nation before being spiked by the courts in response to a resident’s request for a judicial review.

South Bruce Peninsula’s mayor said the town will place barricades along Lakeshore Boulevard North in Sauble Beach to mitigate a safety hazard after a judicial review revoked its work permit to cut back the sand dunes.
Jackson said the work to install the barricades along the shoulder of the road will begin “fairly soon” though no firm date has been set.
