ST. JOSEPH You know about the stores that closed their brick-and-mortar locations to sell online-only during the pandemic. One St. Joseph store did it the other way around.
Mark and Sherri McGillivrays, owners of Sam s Outdoor & More in St. Joseph, started selling out of their home about 5 years ago, Sherri said. They had a friend who was selling items on eBay, and Sherri said she thought it would be a nice side gig.
Their St. Joseph storefront opened in October and has outdoor gear, some sports gear, footwear and military surplus. Some is new, some is from liquidations and some is lightly used.

WorkSafeBC has assessed penalties totalling more than $1 million against Babine Forest Products for violations of worker safety law and regulations that led to the 2012 explosion and fire at the Burns Lake sawmill.
The decision released Thursday includes an “administrative penalty” of $97,000 for violations and $914,139.62 in a “claims cost levy” based on costs of compensation paid out for injury or death of workers. It was calculated from total payouts by WorkSafeBC of more than $5 million for the incident.
