Magistrate Waleen George while presiding over the case of Police officer Apolosi Lewai said his wife is closely related to her and she was named after her mum. She said she will be transferring the case to the Chief Magistrate as it will be a conflict of interest in she continues. Lewai is charged by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions with a count of conspiracy to defeat justice. He on 25 April last year in the Central Division conspired with other officers maliciously to accuse Rudolph Fonmoa of breaching the illicit drugs and control act.

The Rotary Club of Peninsula Sunset collected $800 cash and 35 bags of relief items during their disaster relief initiative collection at the ROC Market in Suva, and donations continue to pour in.
Community Service Director Prashant Anuraag says the support from the people of Fiji towards the initiative has been tremendous and they are thankful that people have shown their support to those who have been affected by Tropical Cyclone Yasa.

Villagers of Kabara are currently searching for a 35-year-old woman who went missing yesterday after she went out to look for ivi.
The representative of the Tikina of Kabara Tukana Rokobuli says the woman went out to look for ivi when the weather was calm but destructive winds started again.
It is understood the woman went out while the eye of TC Yasa was passing, thinking that the calm weather meant Yasa was gone.
