Lake Township Trustees will ask ODOT to study reducing speeds

Correspondent Monday, Jan. 25, 2021 KEY ACTIONS: Approved requesting speed reductions investigations on three streets in the township from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). DISCUSSION: The trustees are seeking a speed reduction study on Hoover Avenue, Wolf Avenue and Midway Street. The request states, “that a reasonable and safe prima facia speed limit be determined.” The board believes the current speed limits on the three roads are unreasonable. Speed limits at this time are as follows: Hoover Avenue is 55 mph; Wolf Avenue is 40 mph and Midway Street is 55 mph. Trustee Jeremy Miller said, “We have heard from residents on all three roadways that they feel the speeding is out of control, so we are requesting these investigations and we’ll see how they come back.”
