SLTPD promotes Justin Brock to sergeant

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) promoted Justin Brock to sergeant during a ceremony on February 8, 2021. Sgt. Brock has been with the department since 2006 when he was hired as a Community Service Officer. SLTPD sent him through the police academy and he became an officer in 2008. During the last 12 years, Brock has served in many positions including narcotics, detectives, officer in charge and field training officer. He does a great job, said SLTPD Chief David Stevenson who promoted Brock during the ceremony in front of family.

The bill was created to outline what local governments could do while protecting the local entrepreneurship and economic development opportunities for people to support themselves and their families, especially to immigrant and low-income communities. During its February 2 meeting, the Council voted unanimously to create an ordinance that met the requirements of the bill while outlining the areas in South Lake Tahoe where sidewalk vendors would be allowed, and not be allowed.

Law enforcement prepares for possible New Year s Eve crowds on South Shore

The 2019 New Year s Even celebration at Stateline Even with the current pandemic, New Year s revelers could still flock to the Stateline casino corridor and South Lake Tahoe on Thursday so law enforcement will be prepared. With no SnowGlobe this year due to the pandemic, and Heavenly Village New Year s Eve activities canceled, it is unknown as to what will take place in an area that at one time saw 50,000 people in the streets to bring in the new year. Last year it was estimated 7,000 to 8,000 people took to the streets at midnight at Stateline and 6,500 at Heavenly Village for its 9:00 p.m. fireworks.
