On Monday, May 17, the Elliot Lake Pride committee played host to the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. Elliot Lake Pride marked the event by raising the transgender flag at city hall Monday morning. Chantal MacEachern, president of Elliot Lake Pride, and Elliot Lake Mayor Dan Marchisella hoisted the pink, white and blue transgender flag at city hall for the day. Only a few people attended the event because of the COVID-19 restrictions and to keep everyone safe. The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia is aimed at raising awareness of the issue.
