Feb 20, 2021 LAKE PLACID Lake Placid Land Conservancy announced it has been awarded accredited status, a significant honor in land conservation. The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, granted this accredited after an intensive review of the Lake Placid Land Conservancy’s programs and activities, as well the policies it uses to conserve land. The accreditation seal represents its strong commitment to meeting national quality standards for permanently protecting important natural places in the Adirondacks. “We are incredibly grateful to receive this recognition,” says Lake Placid Land Conservancy’s Executive Director Kerry Crowningshield. “Accreditation ensures that our efforts to conserve land and water resources in and around Lake Placid are rooted in sound practices, and that our friends, neighbors and visitors will benefit from our efforts for generations to come.”
