Mental health expert Hugh van Kylenburg says children are struggling to cope with stress amid the pandemic, which has seen schools closed, kids separated from peers, and major milestones missed.

Parents with children at Maitland Christian School have been advised to collect their children immediately.
The school has been made non-operational effective immediately so contact tracing and cleaning can get underway.
All staff and students are being asked to self isolate until receiving further advice from health authorities.
Any children already dropped off will be supervised until collected.

Hundreds of students, parents and staff from a Central Coast School are on alert after two children tested positive to COVID-19.
NSW Health advised NSW Department of Education late Wednesday night that students from Lake Munmorah Public School will need to isolate until further notice.
Principal Narelle Baldwin notified families through the school s official Facebook page.
People from Greater Sydney breaching lockdown may be responsible for an outbreak at a gathering at Blacksmith Beach in Newcastle on Friday night. We believe there may have been people there from Greater Sydney and that s how it was introduced, Dr Chant said.

Dr Chant said the known cases in Newcastle did not explain the high levels of coronavirus detected in sewage in the Hunter region. Our cases does not fully explain the detections and so we don t want anyone to be complacent that we have got the full picture at this stage, she said.
