A seaplane crashed into an Orange County lake. The pilot was able to get out alive with help from witnesses who jumped into action.
ORLANDO, Fla. - A man was taken to the hospital, Tuesday, after a seaplane crash.
The incident happened near the Lake Hiawassee seaplane base. Neighbors caught the crash on video.
The pilot was able to get out of the plane shortly after the crash, according to neighbors. Then a neighbor said he jumped on his paddleboard and paddled out to the pilot, who then held on to the paddleboard as he was towed to shore.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A pilot was able to escape from a plane that went down in a body of water in Orange County, according to fire rescue crews.
Orange County Fire Rescue officials said the plane went down Tuesday afternoon into Lake Hiawassee at 1147 Edgewood Ranch Road.
According to a tweet from fire rescue crews, the pilot made it to shore safely and was the only occupant of the aircraft. Rescue crews said the pilot will be taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
